Injury Clinic

A Multi-Disciplinary Clinic

We firmly believe that assessment, treatment and rehabilitation cannot take place simply within the walls of a treatment room, which is why we utilise our performance and rehabilitation centres to take our clients through an active recovery back to full functional fitness.

What happens in the Clinic?

Sports Therapy - Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of clients back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness and performance, regardless of age and ability.

It utilises the principles of sport and exercise sciences incorporating physiological, pathological and neurological processes to prepare the participant for training, competition or back to work readiness

Shockwave Therapy - SShockwave therapy is a multidisciplinary device used in orthopaedics, physiotherapy, sports medicine, urology and veterinary medicine. Its main assets are fast pain relief and mobility restoration. Together with being a non-surgical therapy with no need for painkillers makes it an ideal therapy to speed up recovery and cure various indications causing acute or chronic pain.

Medical and Electro-Acupuncture or Dry Needling - Medical and Electro-Acupuncture or Dry Needling is a procedure that uses sterile medical grade (disposable, single use) solid filament (acupuncture) needles inserted into the skin and muscle directly at a myofascial trigger point.

Myofascial trigger points (occasionally known as knots) are associated with the production and maintenance of the pain cycle and may refer the pain elsewhere away from the actual site.

The Dry Needling approach, which often uses fewer needles, is based on Western anatomical and neurophysiological principles which are not to be confused with the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) technique of acupuncture.

Dry needling can be used for a variety of musculoskeletal problems. Muscles are thought to be a primary contributing factor to the symptoms

FR® Release - Functional Range Release technique or FR® Release is an advanced, and comprehensive system of musculoskeletal assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation utilized by leading manual medical practitioners and therapists around the world including Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Registered/Licensed Massage Therapists, Registered Nurses, Osteopaths, Athletic Trainers, Medical Doctors, etc.

Unlike many manual therapy systems which are created based on trial and error and passed down over the years, FR® Release was created out of the most current scientific literature. It, therefore, represents a cohesive system of manual care using the best evidence, and most effective strategies currently available to assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal disorders, pain, and movement dysfunction.

Sports and Remedial Massage - Sports and Remedial Massage Techniques are based in a range of highly developed and advanced manual soft tissue and neurological techniques to improve connective tissue condition, tone, symmetry, the balance of muscle and improve quality of posture. These release tension, reduce pain and restore range of movement. They promote the health of muscle, fascia and all connective tissue and hence, wellbeing.

Our Clinical Soft Tissue Therapists deliver a variety of massage and advanced fascial techniques grounded within a framework of assessment and rehabilitation. From dealing effectively with a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological problems they can also be used to help in recovery and reduce the symptoms in many ailments and medical conditions and are used significantly as a preventative treatment.

For sports people pre and post-event massage treatments and regular maintenance enhance sporting performance and expedite recovery, which is essential in keeping competitive and at the peak of performance.

Far from just being available to sports people our services are applicable and ideal for anybody wishing to guard against or recover from soft tissue aches, pain or injury, which are encountered in modern, day to day living and work environments.
